The BSC Film and Digital Image Evaluation commenced its tour of the country with its first Road Show Event in the Bristol Watershed Media Centre on August 4th. MJH Media again produced the event and provided presentation and event administration services throughout the day. The event was a tremendous success.

"I attended your BSC event last week in Bristol to catch up with the latest thinking on film and video formats. Although the initial impression was that the event was more for camera-folk than producers, the day was well-spent by we handful of Directors UK members who attended. It seems that the same arguments that were being tossed around when I produced that pioneering High Def documentary 'Great Natural Wonders of the World' in 2002 (experimentally using a variety of film and digital formats) are still very much alive. Your excellent presentation left us all in no doubt that 35mm film is still the highest definition format availiable to both cinema and television, but that it is recognised that classic film production values greatly enhance the more economic digital formats now universally favoured in television".

Peter Crawford - formerly an Executive Producer BBC Natural History Unit, now freelance writer and broadcaster.
